Kolner Caselo Casein Paint Information & Instructions

 

USAGE OVERVIEW: Kolner Casein Paints are water based with many different custom paint colors offered. Casein Paint is used by Gilders, Framers and Decorators for restoration of older items such as dolls, frames, pieces of art, sculptures, figures and ornaments etc.

 

Some gilders use Caselo Paint for a base coat for gilding. Each color will give the gold leaf a little different color tone.

 

These colors are not normally available and the paint adheres to most rigid surfaces including furniture. It can also be used as a base coat when gilding on frames. Once dry it can be burnished to a soft sheen. This paint is water resistant & non-fading, available in Matt / Satin finish.

 

 

Surface Preparation

The surfaces must be dry and free from dust and grease.

 

APPLICATION OF CASELO CASEIN PAINT: Caselo paint is applied with a paint brush, however it can be sprayed.

 

 

After applying, allow about 15 minutes to reach proper tack, depending on the thickness of the application, temperature and humidity. Porous surfaces may require more than one coat. If applying additional coats of Rapid, wait approximately 15 minutes between applying coats.

 

Cleanup
Clean up brushes and tools with warm soap and water.
Do not return unused solutions to their container, discard.

 

Keep the containers tightly closed and avoid frost and heat.

 

SAFETY KEEP PRODUCT OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! Caselo Paint is not hazardous, but can cause skin or eye irritation. Protective clothing is recommended, and it should be kept away from food and drink.
